If you answered yes, we have a perfect opportunity for you at City of Ryde as a Library Assistant on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2026!
Library Assistants are our front line customer service staff and work in all areas of the library. They are passionate about giving back to the community. This is a significant role in both the Eastwood and Ryde Library teams providing valuable support to the Team Leader in regards to collection maintenance and team communication as well as a variety of tasks serving these diverse communities and assisting in maintaining a safe, neat, welcoming library.
You will also have the opportunity for involvement in library programs including early childhood programs such as rhyme time.
This is a 21-hour part-time position reporting to the Supervisor Librarian at Eastwood Library and the hours will be as follows:

Your commencing rate of pay will be from between $63,561 - $67,995 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation, subject to your library qualifications and experience.
About You
You will have exceptional customer service skills and enthusiasm to help our diverse range of public library users whether it be to locate their next great read or troubleshoot technology. In addition, you must have:
- Completion or near completion of Library qualifications (minimum Certificate III in Library and Information Services)
- Exceptional teamwork skills with proven experience to also work independently
- Adaptable approach to tasks with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Experience in a vibrant customer service focused role
Note: This is a Child Related position and employment is subject to verification of the Working With Children Check status. The cost of obtaining a WWC clearance is at the applicant's expense.
