At the City of Ryde, our parks and open spaces are at the heart of our community. We're seeking a proactive and customer-focused Parks Officer to help manage and improve our diverse portfolio of parks, reserves and recreational spaces.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, stakeholder engagement and seeing tangible outcomes from their work. Working closely with contractors, project teams and internal stakeholders, you'll play a key role in ensuring our parks are maintained to a high standard while contributing to future improvements and capital projects.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator – Parks Operations, you'll be responsible for the ongoing management, inspection and improvement of Council's parks portfolio.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting park inspections, audits and condition assessments
  • Monitoring contractor performance and service level agreements
  • Investigating customer requests and stakeholder enquiries
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Council's parks and open spaces
  • Preparing project briefs and contributing to capital works projects
  • Working collaboratively with contractors, project teams and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the ongoing presentation, safety and functionality of Council's parks assets

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in asset management, facilities, parks, open space, maintenance operations or a similar field
  • Experience undertaking inspections, audits or condition assessments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
  • Experience coordinating contractors or service providers
  • Strong written communication and reporting skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • A current Class C Driver Licence

 

Desirable

  • Local Government experience
  • Horticultural qualifications or knowledge
  • Experience managing parks or open space assets
  • Exposure to infrastructure or improvement projects

 

Salary

Your commencing annual salary will range from $99,639.10 to $116,245.62 per annum + 12.5% superannuation. Salary offered will be dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
