About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader, Sports Facilities to lead a small team responsible for the maintenance and presentation of Council's sportsgrounds and recreational facilities.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate daily operations, oversee maintenance programs, allocate resources and support your team to deliver high-quality outcomes across a range of sporting and recreational facilities.

As an active member of the team, you'll also contribute to operational maintenance activities and provide technical expertise in sports field and grounds maintenance.

About You

You are a practical and proactive leader with experience supervising operational teams within sportsgrounds, parks, horticulture, landscaping or a similar environment.

You enjoy working outdoors, leading by example and supporting your team to deliver quality outcomes. You can organise resources, prioritise work and adapt to changing operational demands while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and coordinating a team responsible for sportsgrounds maintenance
• Planning and implementing maintenance programs and work schedules
• Allocating staff, equipment and materials to achieve service outcomes
• Leading, mentoring and supporting team members in their day-to-day work
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to team members
• Undertaking sports field and grounds maintenance activities
• Monitoring work standards and ensuring service levels are achieved

In Addition, You Will Have

• Certificate III in Greenkeeping, Parks & Gardens, Horticulture or a related discipline, together with relevant industry experience
• Experience leading, supervising and coordinating operational teams
• Experience in sportsgrounds, parks, horticultural or similar maintenance environments
• Experience operating plant, equipment and power tools used in sports field maintenance
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A current Class C Driver Licence
• Basic computer literacy

Desirable

• MR Driver Licence or higher
• White Card
• Plant operation certificates/tickets
• Experience in weed management and control
• Diploma in Horticulture or a related discipline
• Extensive team leadership experience

Salary

Your commencing annual salary will range from $68,937 to $84,448.96 per annum + 12.5% superannuation + a Council-provided To and From Work vehicle. Salary offered will be dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
