About the Role - Deliver Projects That Shape the Community
We are building a high‑performing Project Management team and are looking for motivated professionals to be part of our journey!
In this role, you’ll take ownership from project initiation through to delivery, managing design, contractors, budgets, and timelines to ensure high-quality outcomes. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and utilities to deliver coordinated, well-executed projects across the City.
You’ll operate within Council’s project management framework, ensuring risks are proactively managed, compliance requirements are met, and projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to standard. From reviewing business cases and project briefs to overseeing schedules, finances, and on-site delivery, you’ll play a key role in driving successful outcomes.
You will also work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, managing key milestones and ensuring successful project delivery that supports the strategic objectives of the City of Ryde and enhances community outcomes.

In this role, you will leverage your construction management and development expertise to deliver significant community infrastructure projects. Our key projects will range from road construction, sports fields, open spaces, and leisure centre facilities.
This is a hands-on and strategic role where strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving are essential. You’ll also contribute to project planning, funding submissions, and continuous improvement across the project delivery function.

In addition, you will also have:
- Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or similar.
- Current drivers’ licence.
- Proven, significant experience in project management of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Exceptional knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards, and code of practice relation to the construction and management of infrastructure.
- Significant experience in the management of project finances and budgets, business planning, tendering and contract administration.
- Superior interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence, negotiate, and achieve positive outcomes / resolve complex project management and contractual issues with stakeholders.
- Wide ranging technical knowledge base and experience formulating and implementing innovative project management solutions.
Your commencing annual salary will be negotiable for the right applicant, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
