  • Thrive in a forward-thinking, innovative local government environment
  • Collaborate with a high-energy, values-driven team

This is your opportunity to contribute to the future of the City of Ryde—one of Sydney’s most dynamic and rapidly evolving local government areas.

With our population set to double over the next 30 years, we’re working hand-in-hand with the NSW Government to tackle the housing crisis and deliver smart, sustainable growth. Our strategy is clear: strike the right balance between housing, jobs, and infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll respond to parking enquiries and complaints, conduct patrols across the city and take a balanced approach to educating the community while enforcing parking requirements.

A key part of the role involves working in and around school zones, where you’ll help promote safe parking behaviours and support the safety of children, families and school communities throughout the Ryde LGA.

You’ll enjoy working with people and bring strong customer service and communication skills, along with the confidence to resolve issues and manage challenging conversations professionally. You’ll also be comfortable preparing written reports and documentation, including court briefs, and may be required to provide evidence at court hearings from time to time.

Rangers start and finish times may vary depending on operational needs.

To be one of our parking enforcement rangers, you will need:

  • A friendly, professional approach when interacting with members of the community
  • The ability to work confidently and independently while managing your own day‑to‑day activities

  • Strong emotional awareness, with the ability to stay calm and respectful when handling challenging or conflict situations
  • Comfortable working outdoors and physically able to walk for extended periods throughout the day
  • Previous experience in a customer‑focused role, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the community
  • An interest in, or experience using, smart parking and enforcement technology
  • Well‑developed negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve issues fairly and constructively
  • Clear and effective written communication skills, with confidence preparing reports and documentation
  • Current NSW driver’s licence
  • Working with children check
  • Completion of year 12 High School studies, a TAFE course in Business or similar, or Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) will be well regarded but is not essential.
