About the Role

City of Ryde is recruiting two experienced Customer Service professionals for the following part-time opportunities:

  • Permanent part-time (25 hours per week), working rostered shifts Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm
  • Temporary part-time for 12-months (14 hours per week), working Tuesdays and Thursdays

 

Customer Service Officers rotate between Council’s Top Ryde and Macquarie Park offices. As part of your application, you may nominate your preferred location.

In this role, you will deliver front-line customer service to external and internal customers via phone, in person and in writing.

Working in local government is both interesting and rewarding, and you will be supported by a motivated, skilled team as you learn Council’s systems, processes and the range of services we provide.

 

About You

Your enthusiasm, positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong customer service skills will set you apart. You are a collaborative team player who is committed to achieving the best outcomes for your team, the organisation, our customers and the community.

You will bring previous experience in a customer service environment, with the ability to confidently and professionally manage a wide range of customer interactions while adhering to relevant policies and procedures.

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience working in a call centre or high-volume customer service environment
  • Experience handling customer enquiries in a face-to-face or counter service setting
  • High levels of reliability and professionalism
  • An adaptable approach, with the ability to transition easily between phone-based and face-to-face customer service
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
  • Experience working in local or state government, or a strong understanding of the services provided by local councils

 

Your commencing annual salary will range from $70,449.12 to $91,583.86, plus superannuation (pro rata for part-time), commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
