About the Role:

The Senior Coordinator FOGO and Projects plays a pivotal role in leading the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s new Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) service, as well as overseeing other priority resource recovery projects. Reporting to the Manager Circular Economy & Resilience, this position is responsible for administering key waste accounts, leading the development of strategies that support circular economy outcomes, and engaging with Council’s diverse community to drive behaviour change. You will lead the delivery of FOGO services, establish and monitor KPIs, manage project risks, and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Working collaboratively across Council and with external stakeholders, you will also oversee waste education and behaviour change programs, support development application assessments, and deliver projects that strengthen circular economy outcomes, reduce contamination, and support Council’s sustainability and Net Zero objectives.

 

Key requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Waste Management, Planning, Business Management, Environmental Science or equivalent technical skills and experience in waste management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the routine aspects of Waste Contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial accounting
  • Ability to evaluate and report on development applications to meet the waste requirements of Council
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage with the community, internal staff,  external contractors and key internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in the management and delivery of quality customer service
  • Sound written communications skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports and submissions
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and achieve targets
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong level of computer literacy using MS applications
  • Current driver’s licence

 

Your commencing annual salary will range from $130,929.08 to $170,207.81+ Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
