About the Role
Working as part of a small, high‑performing engineering team, you will act as a key point of contact for traffic operations and road safety matters, providing high‑level technical advice across the organisation. The role involves delivering practical and effective solutions for a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as contributing to key committees, including the Ryde Local Transport Forum and the Sport, Recreation and Leisure Working Group.
About You
You will be a superior communicator who can work with the public shaping safer, more efficient streets that improve daily life for residents. You will play a visible role in enhancing road safety, accessibility, and liveability whilst translating your work into real, on‑the‑ground outcomes within the local community.
You will be able to work within multidisciplinary teams, open to feedback whilst building trust with your stakeholders. You will be providing your expertise understanding traffic decisions what affect real people and neighbourhoods. Your ability to provide solutions whilst adapting best practice is a must!

Key Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Civil or equivalent) or other relevant discipline
- Minimum three (3) years post qualification experience as a Traffic Engineer (within Australia).
- Excellent knowledge of relevant industry standards relating to “traffic”
- Experience undertaking independent traffic related investigations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to achieve deadlines
- High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Applications
- Current driver’s licence
- Eligibility to work in Australia permanently.
Your commencing annual salary will range from $112,910.43 to $125,183.30 + civil liability allowance + superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
