About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Risk and Insurance professional to join our team. In this crucial role, you will promote and support the implementation of our Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring City of Ryde is prepared for and can effectively manage potential risks. You will be responsible for processing external liability claims, supporting the preparation of annual insurance policies, and working closely with our insurer to analyse and improve our risk management processes.

You will also play a key role in maintaining and updating our risk documentation, facilitating annual risk assessments, and leading the update and testing of our Business Continuity Plan. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the Council's risk management strategies and outcomes.

 

About You

You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of risk management, backed by significant experience in the field. You have a strong background in developing and implementing risk management policies, and you’re skilled at training and coaching staff to identify and mitigate risks effectively. Your knowledge of the general insurance industry, combined with your experience in managing liability claims, will be crucial in ensuring our organisation remains resilient and responsive to potential risks.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in risk management, insurance, business, or a related field
  • Expertise in relevant legislation and Australian standards
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and driving innovation

Your commencing annual salary will range from $105,441 to $126,529 + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
