About the Role

Working as part of a small committed team, in this temporary 12 month position as the Senior Strategic Planner, you will play a key role in developing long term planning policy and controls applicable throughout the City of Ryde LGA. You will be a subject matter expert in strategic planning issues and regularly represent Council at NSW planning forums, community consultations. Specifically, you will work on planning proposals, West Ryde – Meadowbank Strategy and Macquarie Park Innovation District to name a few.

About You

You bring to this position exceptional project management skills particularly in managing significant projects such as masterplans, precinct plans or integrated strategic plans. You have a thorough understanding of planning policy and controls coupled with an innovative and forward-thinking mindset. You are a natural collaborator who is able to provide sound, evidence based advice and present to various levels of senior leadership.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Degree level qualifications in Urban/Town Planning with proven experience in strategic and statutory planning
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative skills in relation to planning issues, policy development and infrastructure solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including demonstrated ability to prepare specialist reports and to communicate specialist advice on complex matters to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of integrated planning practices that balance urban design, traffic, ecological and social considerations

Your commencing annual salary will be from $120,000 + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
