About the Role

Are you a qualified Accountant with an eye for detail and proven experience working as part of a professional accounting team? Do you have a track record in partnering with business units in an organisation to deliver management accounting services? If you answered Yes, we have the perfect position for you at the City of Ryde as a Finance Business Partner in our Finance Department.

 

The focus of your role will be to assist in the preparation of Councils Annual Budget and Council’s Fees and the Council's fees and charges as part of the development of the Council's Operational Plan; assist with monthly Budget Reviews; provide accurate financial information and advice to all levels of management in a timely manner on key aspects of Council's financial performance and financial position and projections.

 

Key Requirements 

  • An appropriate degree qualification in a financial or accounting discipline
  • Member of Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA Australia) or Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia) or currently working towards attaining membership
  • 3 + years finance Management Accounting role or Finance Business Partner role for a large and diverse organisation
  • Experience in managing budgets, analysing actuals and making informed decisions.
  • Experience in preparing annual budgets whist balancing financial control and service delivery
  • Experience in successfully influencing decision making to drive financial performance and financial control
  • Experience working in high pressure environments with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to partner and build relationships with all levels of management whilst providing independent financial advice and guidance
  • High level of oral and written communication skills, including preparation of reports and correspondence to Management.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills combined with an ability to analyse, understand, and communicate the meaning behind the data.
  • High levels of interpersonal skills, eye for detail and accuracy and PC literacy.

Your commencing annual salary will range from $101,873.52 to $132,435.58 + Superannuation dependent on your experience and qualifications.
