About the Role

The City of Ryde has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer experienced in the design of civil infrastructure and related projects to join our team based at North Ryde.

This is a senior role in an established team and apart from your key responsibility in providing infrastructure designs and cost estimates across a wide range of civil infrastructure projects you will play a key role in improving Department business plan, reviewing projects brief and mentoring civil engineers and junior engineers. The position is responsible for preparation and management of engineering designs and investigations across a broad range of infrastructure projects. It will include external contract management, management of internal design projects and preparation of contract documentation for design projects.

Your commencing annual salary will range from $111,650 - $145,145 p.a. + 3.5 % civil liability allowance + superannuation is negotiable depending on your qualifications and experience.  

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia. 
• Exceptional knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards, and code of practice relation to the construction and management of infrastructure.
• Extensive experience in preparation of detailed design, cost estimate, specifications, and tender documentations of geometric alignment (road, footpath and cycleway design), traffic facilities and stormwater drainage design
• Highly proficient in computer systems knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, Civil3D/12D, Drains, vehicle tracking and similar road geometric design software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively, either independently or within a team, displaying appropriate judgment, flexibility, accuracy, organisational awareness, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Proven experience in mentoring and providing support to other engineers.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
